1 Responses to Winsor Roy

I discovered the Radio Mystery Theater when I was in my early 20s and attending the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. I heard many episodes in whole or in part as I traversed late at night between the University and my Chicago home. I am so pleased to rediscover them through this Web site. The writing of Winsor Roy moved me and inspired me to become a writer. He created stories, characters and details that were believable, but impossible in any medium other than radio. One episode I recall involved someone being turned inside-out. Sound effects, actors' verbal reactions, and pure imagination. That horror has stayed in my mind for nearly 50 years. That, my friend, is some powerful writing!
