Adapted from the Ambrose Bierce story; a Civil War scout comes across an enemy platoon. Before he can squeeze off a shot, a projectile topples the flimsy structure upon which he was standing and effectively trapping him. As he considers his situation he is faced with the possibility of his mortality.

J. Petersen

This one was OK I guess. Kind of slow-moving and quirky. I guess it was an adaptation of an Ambrose Bierce story, or a parallel of some sort. It didn;t really captivate me so much, and I've listened to it twice.

Bruce

I agree with Bruce that this one was slow moving and quirky. It was a somewhat good story, but not one that I would go back to. I think I have Ambrose Bierce's stories somewhere so I may try the written word to see if it's better for me.

Alec

Deep story revolving around the power of gripping fear. This adaptation reflects the destructive and paralyzing effects fear can have on one's existence. Jerome's fear of failure, death and his own fate were more devastating to him than the perils of war. Truly a sad story.

Maureen

Thank you so very much for putting these up. This was truly a sad story but these are all wonderful and they were the best of times thank you again!
