A Pennsylvania man is driving down the highway in Connecticut when he finds that he is not feeling well and decides to exit at a small town and take a room at the local motel to rest. In spite of the fact that he has never been to the town before, everyone he encounters seems to find him very familiar. The lady that runs the motel, and the doctor at the local hospital where he seeks treatment for what ails him - they can't quite put their finger on who he is, but they seem to know him. Finally, one person remembers where they have all seen him.

A traveling salesman stops in a small town because he's having chest pains. When he arrives at a hotel, he finds that everyone finds him familiar. Turns out he's the reincarnation of the town's revolutionary war hero.

Morale of the story, always avoid stopping at a "remote village" because it always ends badly

Gina Schackel

A good interesting story. I would disagree with Gina about "always ends badly" as that isn't the case in this story, but otherwise avoiding stopping at "remote villages" is usually a good idea in most stories.

Businessman Donald Farrow develops severe chest pains and is forced to stop his car in a small town in Connecticut. Farlow is perplexed both by his pains, which cannot be diagnosed, and by the townspeople, who all seem to recognize him as an American Revolutionary patriot who defended the town against the British. It is not until he visits the local museum to view the prized painting of the 18th century hero that he realizes the cause of his persistent pains.
