Plot:
Desperately in need of cash, Gay Armstrong tries to sell her late mother's pearl necklace and is disturbed to find out that the pearls are a fake. In a sign of goodwill that raises her suspicions, her stepfather offers her $15,000 for the piece of jewelry. Now Gay will stop at nothing until she uncovers the truth.

Story flows well and has a surprise ending.

When a woman's mother dies, she inherits a valuable string of pearls meant to be a nest-egg for her future. When she has them appraised by her family jeweller, she is shocked to discover they are fake. Her step-father offers to write her a cheque for the value of the real ones and discourages her from investigating further into what happened to the real ones. In fact, almost everyone tries to discourage her. Of course, she is only encouraged to discover the truth.
