It's leap year on the radio and February 29 is approaching. A police officer has a bad day and goes for a couple of drinks. He drinks too much and wakes up the next morning with a hangover. Big problem though - he wakes up in someone else's bed and is someone else - a gangster. At the same time, the same thing seems to be happening at his house - the person he now is, is also waking up - as him.

Act 1: A policeman wakes up after a night of drinking to find that he has somehow turned into a mob boss of some renown. The blond bombshell beside him in bed, and the key to the safe deposit box, and the angry phone call from THE boss point to the difficult situation he finds himself in. Act 2: A mob boss wakes up after a night of drinking to find that he has somehow turned into a policeman recently forced into retirement. The older woman beside him in bed, the badge and firearm, and the recollection of the danger that faced him in his other life point to the possibilities of his new situation Act 3: The twain shall meet.

Loved the episode but the ending, in a rush to tie it all up nicely, left me confused for awhile and shortcutted what could have been a better story.

Mike

I agree with Mike that the story was good but the ending was rushed. I don't know if Ian ran out of time on his script or what happened, but I know he could've done a better job on this.

Alec

This was a great episode. An Irish cop and an Italian mobster, both seemingly at the end of there respective ropes, unwittingly find themselves in each others bodies. They have to first find out who they are and what they need to do. Reminiscent of the 80's series Quantum leap.

Nick

Kind of a Quantum Leap (Year) Day.

Randal

I don’t get it. Was it all just a dream? I thought it was interesting that Bryna Raeburn must have played both wives as she is the only actress in the cast!

Tony

I loved this episode. I've been listening to them in order, and I've felt stuck in a run of not so great shows. This one was back to the quality I associate with CBSRMT. Ian Martin was a great writer and a wonderful character actor. Ralph Bell does a great job playing two men with completely different voices, switching from one accent to another depending on whether he's thinking to himself or being heard by someone else. A great Radio Mystery Theatre!
