Three women who once served as judges on a gameshow are stalked by a former contestant hungry for revenge on those he says "judged" him and found him wanting.

Kurt Tabor

A man wreaks revenge upon the people he feels unfairly judged him more than a decade earlier.

The game show producer here is called "Ted Tinker" - was a certain cable giant in business at the time this was broadcast?

I guess some people take rejection way too seriously. SPOILER: In this case someone blames people who "judged" him as a potential person to receive money to help get him out of trouble (that he initiated). Since they didn't judge him to receive the money he got into further trouble and blames them, not himself. He definitely had issues.

Rather unbelievable that the family members of the murdered women can't seem to recall something as memorable as them being on a television game show. It's not something us commoners tend to forget. I was all of about 10 when my dad was on TV and 40 years later I have no trouble remembering it or the name of the show he was on. Yet, these folks can't remember something so 'once in a lifetime' that happened only ten years ago??? - Other than these daft amnesiacs the detective questions, it's a good episode.

“Well, you gotta have the background, Capt. Weiss.” “I’m only a lieutenant.” “You’re gonna get promoted because you’re about to solve this case.” Great piece of dialogue in a mediocre-at-best episode. The premise is OK, but it develops so slowly. You can tell it was tough to stretch the thin story out to cover the full hour.

"The game show producer here is called "Ted Tinker" - was a certain cable giant in business at the time this was broadcast?" Might be a nod to Grant Tinker of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Which was in its fifth season in 1975.

Police lieutenant Charles Weiss, faced with the stabbing murders of two women, is certain he can get convictions against the husband of one and the boyfriend of the other. But when a third woman is killed in the same manner, Weiss has second thoughts -- especially when he learns that all three were judges in a television game show ten years ago. His investigation goes nowhere, however, until the mother of the third victim offers him a plan on how to trap the murderer.

What an amazing cast! Ralph Bell, Robert Dryden, Earl Hammond, Bryan Raeburn, Martha Greenhouse - WOW! A complete lesson in voice acting from extraordinary voice actors - And Sam Dann as writer. Worth listening just for this great cast... all in multiple roles

Paul Liberti

Agree wholeheartedly.
