A vain, out of work actress is recruited to play the queen of an obscure monarchy. Will it be a permanent gig?

Lheena Ayque

An out-of work and fiercely proud actress is desperate for another role. Her agent has been picky for his client but she wants to work. She is approached by a foreign gentleman who asks her to play the role of their respected ancient warrior queen at their millennium celebrations. Overjoyed at the prospect of a glamorous role she cannot see the potential danger in this unique role.

It's a shame this is the only episode Julie Harris did because she brought a lot of personality to this one.

A good listen on this one. Apparently the actress was a bit too trusting as first, her agent seems to be pickier than her on her roles and second, she believes one person to tell her some lines and only ask him what they might mean before she takes the job. At least she was smart enough to learn from her mistakes.

Not a bad episode, very intriguing, but the constant "This is just a dream" mantra all the way into the third act was tiresome.

Joe Mama

Its a shame she didn't replace herself with a democratically elected parliament. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Josephine Dennison is a destitute New York actress much in need of a job. When she is offered $25,000 from the Grand Duke of Dalhran to portray the queen of Dalhran, she accepts. Despite the protests from her own government, she becomes the first American citizen to cross into the foreign country in 50 years. Once in Dalhran she starts rehearsing her role, practicing the words the Grand Duke has taught her. Only when one of her ladies-in-waiting translates her lines does Josephine realize that her queenly role has political implications she never suspected.
