"The Old Country" was not the fascinating or mystery-filled episode. However, it is interesting to look back to 1982--31 years ago when so many WWII veterans were in their sixties--and their children, most in their thirties and forties. This episode would have greatly appealed to my mom and dad's generation, both of whom fathers served in the war. Historical accounts aside, just an average listen. 3 stars.

This show debuted on the day mi amour was born. August 3, 1982.

Vivian Rademacher

Gabriel Carson changes his name and disavows all connections with the homeland and heritage of his immigrant parents. But on a business trip to the “old country” young Carson finds himself mysteriously transported back to a time and place he never knew. It is now World War II. He has assumed the position his father held in his Nazi-occupied village. And he faces trial by the villagers for treason. The only sentence... death!

@ Vivian, the narrator in this episode was Tammy Grimes. She also acted in a couple dozen episodes, which you can look up in her bio.
