On the surface, it is apparently an honor to join the "executives' auxiliary" -- a prestigious and secretive cabal of up-and-coming and highly successful corporate executives. One young engineer is thrilled when he is asked to join, but his wife becomes frightened by the prospect when she discovers that the auxiliary is not what it seems. She learns that once her husband is "initiated," he will never be the same again. This tale mixes a little bit of "The Stepford Wives" in with a story of world domination, robots, and extraterrestial life. Genre: Science-fiction

"The Stepford Husbands" A young engineer is asked by his boss to join the local men's club. they need his mechanical skills to advance their cause. When his wife learns their true purpose from another "spouse", she sets out to save him.

Johnny Ragasa

A man is anxious to climb the ladder of success and sees the opportunity to join the Executive Club as his big chance to make connections with important people. His wife is supportive, until she receives a visit from the wife of another member who pleads with her to talk her husband out of joining saying they would regret it for the rest of their lives if she didn’t. She cannot divulge the details until they know he has been accepted, and by then it will be too late.

Decent science fiction. I'd give it 6 out of 10. Wish they had thought of a more clever way to put an end to the problem but I guess confusing men is a good a way as any. As we look at the way our country today seems to be coordinated to move in a certain direction against the will of the people this story, altho implausible, has merit. Always fun to see how the past looked at the future. No one predicted cell phones let alone smart phones etc. but a robot to look completely human was no problem!

Fun episode, even if they DID keep pronouncing "Robot" as "Ro-butt." Maybe pronunciation was different back in the 70's?

Interesting idea, but it makes me wonder about the founding father(s) of the club and how they got to be "mechanized" (I think that's the word they used, although they would then be cyborgs, not robots). Apparently they had really bad processors if they could get confused so easily. Still an interesting listen.
