A cash strapped former college football idol and an opportunist juvenile delinquent try to borrow from the football player's wealthy uncle. But the uncle ends up murdered and everyone suspects the footballer, including his mother. But her own uneasy conscience over his neglected childhood forces her to look for the real culprit.
