wow! THIS WAS A STRANGE ONE. DONT KNOW IF THIS WAS LOOSELY BASED ON ANYTHING ELSE, BUT FOUND IT TO BE A FAIRLY STRONG SOCIAL STATEMENT PIECE. I'LL GIVE IT THIS... I WAS THINKING ABOUT ITS MESSAGE AFTER HEARING IT.

I had a little trouble getting interested in this one in the first few minutes but I was quickly hooked after that. This served as a reminder to me that a program should not be judged from the first couple of minutes. You have to listen to a whole program before you can give an honest opinion or a review of it to others. This program is a sort of object-lesson. It's kind of like a biblical parable. It's set in a fictional country and begins when a jeweler and his wife are arguing. In the midst of that lightning strikes their home. So as not to ruin the story for you, I will give away no more, but following the lightning strike another event occurs and then another, etc., with one thing happening as the result of the previous one. What you take away from this story is up to you but I think it is a good program.

A scrupulously honest jeweler comes upon what appear to be an extraordinary diamond. His wife, more interested in improving their lifestyle than her husband’s philosophy and high ideals, is overjoyed until he tells her that the object is merely a frammis. Nevertheless its’ influence on people is the same as if it were real, and seems to lead the possessor to extraordinary things.

Over-acted and farcial - this isn't one of the better episodes. CBSRMT always seems to have a trouble with comic tone, and this is evidence of that.
