4 Responses to Greenhouse Martha

I had the pleasure of speaking to her daughter in law after Ms Greenhouse's death. Surprisingly, amazingly, shockingly, Ms Greenhouse's son and daughter in law had no concept of where to find or listen to CBS Radio Mystery Theater. I was more than happy to copy and paste the shows in which Ms Grrenhouse starred, and send them their way. I explained that Ms Greenhouse was always a favorite of mine. She did not even receive a closeup in The Stepford Wives or Up The Down Staircase. What a waste of her talent. However, we have her here to enjoy. I loved her in Her Long Blonde Hair and Sleepy Village.

My wife and I also very much enjoy and admire Martha Greenhouse. We first noticed her on two of the most hilarious episodes of "Car 54 Where Are You" where she plays Lucille's sister, Rose, opposite the very funny Carl Ballantine who plays her husband. She also has a tiny part in one of the earlier episodes of Route 66. She had a wonderful voice and could do comedy as well as drama quite well. We assume that she must have done a lot of theater. We wish we knew more about her.
